What's in the name?

In 1854, Dr. John Snow directed the removal of the pump handle of a contaminated well in London to help halt a cholera outbreak. It remains a defining event in the fields of epidemiology and geography.



Dr. Francis Boscoe is an internationally recognized leader in the field of cancer surveillance with over 20 years' experience and more than 70 scientific publications. (At right: Digital mammography adoption in New York State, 2008, from this paper).


Current Projects

Pumphandle LLC is currently involved in projects to advance the timeliness of national cancer data by one year, assess the collection of residential histories in cancer studies, compare the tendency of different diseases to cluster, and document disparities in the treatment of Hodgkin lymphoma among young adults.
